Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has lauded the quality of Fulham's trio—Alex Iwobi, Raul Jimenez, and Adama Traore—following their influential roles in Fulham’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea in a Thursday Premier League encounter.
Maresca highlighted the trio's exceptional performance, particularly their ability to dominate transitions and challenge Chelsea's midfield throughout the game. Reflecting on the match during a post-game press conference, Maresca acknowledged the difficulties his team faced against Fulham's swift and well-coordinated attacks.
“Yeah. It is exactly what I said to them. That we can manage the game better,” Maresca explained to reporters.
He continued, “I think we conceded too many transitions in the second half. It is a team with Iwobi, Adama, Jimenez. They are very good in transition. And you have to control better. But it is a game that we can learn many things.”
Alex Iwobi, in particular, orchestrated Fulham's midfield play with precision, while Adama Traore's pace and strength proved challenging for Chelsea’s defense. Raul Jimenez also displayed his experience and technical skill, contributing to Fulham's cohesive and effective gameplay.
Despite Chelsea's loss, Maresca expressed optimism, emphasizing the importance of learning from such encounters as the team looks to refine its strategy and execution in upcoming fixtures.
