Atalanta rule ut January sale for Lookman amid Liverpool interest

Atalanta director Tony D'Amico has insisted that the club will not sell Ademola Lookman during the January transfer window, amid reported interest from Premier League giants Liverpool, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Despite Liverpool's apparent interest in the Nigerian winger, D'Amico is adamant that Atalanta want to maintain a full squad until the end of the season.

"Certainly, the January transfer window is a difficult one for all clubs," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"If there are any opportunities, we will go for them, but obviously maintaining the full squad that we currently have at our disposal."

Lookman has been in sensational form for Gian Piero Gasperini's side this season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Atalanta's determination to keep Lookman is a clear indication of the winger's importance to the team, and a testament to the club's ambition to achieve success in the Serie A this season.
