Eguma: I'm returning to familiar terrain

Newly appointed Enyimba head coach Stanley Eguma has expressed his delight at returning to the club, describing it as a "familiar terrain" Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Eguma, 62, was confirmed as the new helmsman of the People's Elephant on Saturday, following the sacking of erstwhile handler Yemi Olanrewaju.

The experienced tactician has a rich history with Enyimba, having worked as an assistant coach at the club in 2004, when they won the CAF Champions League title.

"Don't forget I've been here before, back in 2004, when we won the CAF Champions League title," Eguma said after his unveiling.

"So I can conveniently say that I'm returning to a familiar terrain."

Eguma's first game in charge will be against Bendel Insurance in Aba next Tuesday, as he looks to turn around the fortunes of the struggling Aba giants, who are winless in their last nine games across all competitions.
