"?Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal insists his side must win their FA Cup final clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday in order to end their trophy drought, according to "?ESPN.
Van Gaal, who has come under heavy pressure regarding his job at the club in the last six months, claims the interests of the club and the supporters are far more important than what a trophy win would mean for his Old Trafford future - as Jose Mourinho continues to be linked with succeeding him as manager.

United haven't won a major trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, but Van Gaal insists that lifting the cup would be significant for the careers of many of his young players.
He said: "I think the interests of the club are much more important, and the interest of the fans is more important, than those of the manager.
"Of course, you have your own aims and that's one of the aims I have had always, so it's always exciting when you are so close, but close is not enough. You have to win it. A club like Manchester United needs silverware.
"When you win silverware, it's important for the players, because a qualification is not a title. A title is the FA Cup or championship, because they can look and hold the trophy, so that's an exciting moment also. We are playing in the most prestigious temple in England.
"Close is not enough, you have to win it. Now, we can win something. You cannot predict a final, you have seen it [in Wednesday's Europa League final], for example.
"Our starting point is to win well and score beautiful goals but, if we win 1-0, that is also enough. Winning is the most important thing in a final, otherwise you have nothing."
Marouane Fellaini is available for the game after suspension, Morgan Schneiderlin is back after illness, while Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo have both overcome their injury problems and have returned to the squad this week. But Van Gaal knows he will have to disappoint a number of players hoping to feature.
"?He added: "Fellaini is not suspended. But you have to wait and see the line-up. If I say something about that, then [Palace manager] Alan Pardew knows the line-up. They have scored 29 of 56 goals out of set plays. It's a lot more than us.
"We have a squad of 27 players, so I have to disappoint nine players in advance. Then I have to select the team and disappoint more players. Some players are thinking that they could play."
Discussing the players returning from injury, he added: "You have filmed the training session and have seen a lot of fit players, which makes it more difficult for me."
United haven't won the FA Cup since 2004, when they beat Millwall in the final in Cardiff.
