Former Turkish referee Erman Toro?lu drew attention after Fenerbahçe’s 1–1 draw away to Ba?ak?ehir, a result that stretched Galatasaray’s lead at the top of the Süper Lig to three points, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Fenerbahçe went ahead in the 64th minute when Milan Škriniar rose to head in a corner but the home side responded through Bertu? Y?ld?r?m, who found the equalizer in the 81st minute.
Speaking on Ekol TV after the match, the well-known pundit delivered striking commentary, even comparing Fenerbahçe’s attacking line to Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen.
“At Fenerbahçe, En-Nesyri, Kerem and Jhon Durán… Three of them do not make one Osimhen!”
Toro?lu then shifted his focus to Galatasaray, launching pointed criticism at manager Okan Buruk and the club’s leadership. Despite Galatasaray sitting atop the table, he argued that their performance was far from convincing.
He emphasized the significant financial investment made by the club and questioned whether the results truly reflected that spending.
"With this squad and this money, neither Galatasaray nor Okan is successful. Galatasaray is currently three points ahead of Fenerbahçe. This demonstrates the failure of both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. There should be at least a six-point difference."
In Toro?lu’s view, Galatasaray’s narrow points advantage only underlined his argument that the team had not played to the level expected of a league leader.
