Mateus Mane is attracting attention from several leading Premier League clubs, with Liverpool and Manchester United among those understood to have made enquiries about the 18-year-old Wolverhampton winger.
The interest comes despite Wolverhampton’s relegation to the Championship at the end of last season. Mane, a Bissau-Guinean winger, remains highly regarded in the English transfer market and is being viewed as one of the emerging young players at the club.
According to transfer specialist Ekrem Konur, Liverpool and Manchester United have sought information about the teenager, who is also described as a young Portuguese player of Bissau-Guinean origin.
The Premier League duo are not alone in monitoring his progress. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are also reported to have identified Mane as a player of interest, underlining the level of attention surrounding him at Wolverhampton.
However, there is no indication that Wolverhampton currently intends to allow the youngster to leave. The club continue to count on Mane despite their drop into England’s second tier and are in a strong negotiating position because of the length of his contract.
Mane is under contract with Wolverhampton until June 2029. That long-term agreement could make any approach significantly more complicated for the clubs tracking him, particularly if the Wolves decide that his development is best continued at Molineux.
