Besiktas head coach Vincenzo Italiano has told Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi that he must raise his performance levels, while warning the entire squad to be ready for greater demands.
Italiano has made a noticeable impact at the club since taking charge at the beginning of the summer transfer window, irrespective of the team’s results.
The Italian coach is also reported to be giving particular attention to the development of individual players. He is said to spend additional time after training with three members of the squad, reviewing their performances and discussing their roles within the team.
According to HT Spor, Italiano has specifically challenged Ndidi and Kartal Kayra Y?lmaz to improve.
His message forms part of a wider call for the squad to meet his expectations, with the coach making it clear that players must be prepared to increase their contribution.
Italiano is also planning to provide more playing time for Poku and Miretti, who have made only limited appearances so far.
