"?Borussia Dortmund have reportedly attempted to hijack Chelsea and Liverpool moves for German centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to the "?Daily Star.
The 23-year-old spent the season at Roma on loan from Stuttgart, and the Italian club is expected to make the deal permanent by activating a clause worth £6.9m.
However, they are keen to make an immediate profit on the player, having confirmed that they are willing to sell in the summer.
Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini recently claimed that Rudiger is replaceable, and revealed that the club would be evaluating offers as they come.
"Rudiger will be redeemed, then we'll see what the market will tell us," he said.
"If offers for Rudiger come in, they will be evaluated, because, despite being a strong player, he is replaceable."
Liverpool are said to be interested in signing the player, while new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is eyeing him as well. But Dortmund have already moved ahead of the Premier League clubs, making a reported offer of £18.4m.
The German club is in desperate need of a good centre-back having lost yet another player to Bayern Munich, this time in the form of Matts Hummels. They view the 23-year-old as a suitable replacement, and hope to beat other interested parties to his signature.
Rudiger has been capped nine times by Germany, and has also been named in Joachim Lowe's provisional squad for Euro 16.
