Boca Juniors Striker Carlos Tevez Rejects £150k-a-Week Reunion With West Ham

"?Boca Juniors striker and former Hammer Carlos Tevez has turned down a chance to return to his former club, "?according to The Mirror.

Argentine Tevez is set to leave his boyhood club Boca Juniors after a dispute with the board, but won't be returning to the Premier League after rejecting an offer of £150,000 a-week to play at the Olympic Stadium.

It is instead believed that Tevez will sign for Brazilian side Corinthians, another of his former clubs, after his agent, Kia Joorabchian, confirmed the deal was done barring the paperwork.

"The deal is practically done," Joorabchian claimed.

"We are only lacking the signatures on the contracts for us to be able to say he's a Corinthians player."

There has also been interest from Spanish side Atletico Madrid and two unnamed Premier League clubs, all of whom have reportedly tabled bids, but Joorabchian confirmed his client's desire to return to Brazil and Corinthians.

"Atletico, two English clubs and Juventus have tried to get him but Carlos wanted Brazil and Corinthians."

West Ham are still in the market for a new striker for their first campaign at the Olympic Stadium, and had been linked with Michy Batshuayi and Alexandre Lacazette, but deals have so far failed to materialise.

The Hammers' attacking contingent currently includes the likes of Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia, but they'll be hoping for a real marquee signing up front in the next few weeks as they look to improve on their Premier League finish of seventh last season, as well as competing in the Europa League again.

They have most recently been chasing Milan's Carlos Bacca, have also shown an interest in Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, who's future at Anfield remains ambiguous.
