Uganda make fast second-half start to lead DR Congo 2-0 in Johannesburg

Uganda struck again shortly after half-time to extend their advantage over DR Congo in the friendly at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The Leopards had hoped to respond after a difficult first half, but their situation worsened at the start of the second period. The Cranes took advantage of a defensive lapse in the 49th minute to double their lead.

Uganda’s attack exposed a lack of alignment in the DR Congo defence before finishing the opportunity with clinical efficiency. The goal gave the Cranes a two-goal cushion and left their opponents trailing 0-2.

DR Congo now face a difficult task in the remainder of the match. Their technical staff will need to make swift adjustments if the Leopards are to recover and reduce the deficit before the final whistle.
