Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo remains hopeful that defender Ola Aina will commit his future to the club by signing a new contract, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Aina's current deal expires in six months, and he is yet to agree to an extension.
The Nigeria international is now free to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club, but Santo is confident that a new deal can be agreed.
When asked about the prospect of Aina and forward Chris Wood signing new contracts, Santo said: "I think so. I think things are going well and the players are working very good."
Aina joined Forest as a free agent from Italian club Torino in 2023, and his contract was extended by a season last summer.
The 27-year-old has scored twice in 19 league appearances for Forest this season.
