Nigeria eligible Samu Omorodion is pushing for a return back to his parent club Atletico Madrid with the Metropolitan club confident that he can play a key role at the club next season.

The 19-year-old joined Los Rojiblancos last summer from domestic rivals Granada as part of a five year contract for the Spain U21 international but he was loaned out to Alaves to continue his development, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

Although he is yet to decide his international future as he is eligible to represent the Nigeria national team and also the Spanish national team whom he played for at a junior level.

Omorodion has scored eight La Liga goals in the Basque Country as his experience in the top division increases, demonstrating the success of the move and there have already been rumors that Atletico Madrid is working on extending the striker's contract deal to include a €60 million release clause.

Omorodion is expected to rejoin Simeone's team in time for the 2024–2025 campaign, and he is eager to contribute at the Estadio Metropolitano as well as making a final decision on his long term senior allegiance.
