Paulo Fonseca has been relieved of his duties as the manager of AC Milan following the 1-1 draw against AS Roma yesterday at the San Siro Stadium, which has left the club in eighth place with 27 points, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Portuguese manager who spoke to Nicolò Schira after the game, moments before he was sacked bemoaned the draw, admitting that they should have gotten a better result if Samuel Chukwueze didn't go down injured.

AC Milan aimed to exploit the creativity of Reijnders and the speed of Chukwueze but faced a well-organized Roma defense with the Super Eagles winger withdrawn in the 62nd minute after picking up a knock as the club continued to assess his situation.

“In the first half, we created several chances to score. Very fair attitude from the players. With Chukwueze's exit we lost a lot and we took risks. We deserved to win, but we missed many chances”.

The club in the wake of the result announced that Paulo Fonseca has been relieved from his duties as head coach of the men's first team.
