NPFL:Rangers walkover Giwa FC…who fail to turn up for 16-minutes match

Published on: 27 April 2016

Giwa FC failed to honor the continuation of the matchday 12 abandoned match but Enugu Rangers coach, Imama Amapakabo is not celebrating his side going 4 points clear on the NPFL table until the LMC officially announces.

The LMC had ruled that the remaining 16 minutes of the game be played with Rangers 1-0 up. Failure of the Jos-based side to appear for the match – billed to be played at the Abuja National Stadium – means the league leaders will be walked over and thus get 3 points and 3 goals ; though there’s a law in principle to abolish awarding board room points.

Early on Wednesday, coach of Giwa FC, Gbenga Ogunbote had told footballlive.ng that the club chairman, Chris Giwa had not given his approval for the team to go ahead with the game.
