"?Nottingham Forest are on the cusp of a £50m takeover from American businessman John Jay Moores after reports revealed the deal could be completed within the next month.
Moores is said to have already flown in to Nottingham in a bid to get the deal over the line, according to the "?Sun, as he hopes to make it third time lucky in his pursuit of acquiring ownership of a British football club.
The former owner of the San Diego Padres, a Major League Baseball franchise, has already been rebuffed in his attempts to take over Premier League sides Everton and Swansea City this year, but is set to get his wish if he completes a deal with Forest's current owner Fawaz Al Hasawi - providing the Football League ratifies the takeover once legal proceedings have been completed.

If the pieces fall into the right places, Moores will be unveiled as Forest's new commander-in-chief after the final international break of 2016.
Al Hasawi has been on the lookout for a buyer for some time after falling out-of-favour with the City Ground faithful following allegations that he was constantly meddling with footballing matters at the Championship club.
The 48-year-old has already hired and fired six managers since gaining control of Forest in July 2012 following the death of previous owner Nigel Doughty, and has faced calls from Forest fans to sell the club to someone who can guide the club back into England's top flight.
The Kuwaiti businessman has also been accused of making late payments to agents, suppliers and other clubs, while rumours of winding up orders have also been whispered about in some quarters.
The future of Philippe Montanier - the seventh boss to take charge since Al Hasawi's buy out - is also considered to be under threat from Moores' arrival amid Forest's poor league position.
The Black Country-based side currently sit 15th in the Championship with just 15 points from as many matches, and have lost six of their last eight league encounters.
Forest are currently on the lookout for a new chief executive and director of football, searches which could be sped up upon Moores taking charge. Brad Friedel has been linked with a coaching role at the club, either under Montanier or a new manager.
