Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface will not play again for the Bundesliga champions this year due to a muscle fibre tear in his thigh, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 23-year-old Nigerian international suffered the injury during Nigeria's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Rwanda on Monday.
Since returning to Germany, Boniface has not trained with his teammates.
Boniface is expected to make a return to action early next year, a significant blow to Bayer Leverkusen's title ambitions.
This is not the first time Boniface has faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines, having been out for around three months last season with an adductor injury .
Despite his injury woes, Boniface has enjoyed a productive season, scoring eight goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself.
