Lookman mounts pressure on Osimhen as Atalanta go goal crazy

It was a resounding victory for Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo. Atalanta went on a goal spray, defeating Salernitana 8-2.

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman after going two game me without a goal since the World Cup break scored two goals and also provided an assist.

Boga opened the scoring in the 5th before the visitors got a leveler. Lookman put the visitor on a journey of no return when he converted a penalty and Scavani made it 3-1 after which Koopmeiners and Højlund added two more.

Atalanta continued their impressive display with Lookman getting his second nine minutes into the second half. Nicolussi Caviglia tried to save the face of the visitors with another goal but Éderson amd Zortea ensured the 8-2 win.

The brace from Lookman means the Nigeria international is now on 9 goals in 17 league appearances, placing him joint second with Lautaro Martinez and Nzola of Spezia.

The leading topper scorer remains Victor Osimhen on 12 goals from 14 games.
