Nigeria football Legend, Segun Odegbami has eulogized Amodu Shuaibu and Stephen Keshi describing them as “two of the greatest Heroes of our football.”

Nigeria football continues to mourn the passing of the icons both died three days apart and almost coincidentally of the same cause.

Stephen Keshi, 54, had captained the Super Eagles and subsequently coached the team, winning laurels for the team.

On the other hand, Amodu Shuaibu became the youngest Manager to win a domestic cup in his days as Coach of BBC Lions. He went on to take charge of Super Eagles in 1994 and subsequently on three other occasions.

His last appointment was with the Nigeria Football Federation, as Technical Director of the national teams.

Odegbami told footballlive.ng that Keshi’s dual role as player and coach, Amodu as a producer of great players and their achievements in the course of the service to the Country are a privilege to all who witnessed them.

” We have to give gratitude to God for letting us be and experience how their gifts have been used to bless this country,” the former Nigeria International said.
