Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi is enjoying his newfound partnership with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, following the injury of Mauro Icardi, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The duo played together for the first time since joining Galatasaray in the summer, with Batshuayi coming on as a halftime substitute in Saturday's match against Bodrumspor.

With Icardi sidelined due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Galatasaray coach Orkan Buruk experimented with a new attacking duo, pairing Osimhen with Batshuayi.

The partnership proved fruitful, as Batshuayi scored the winning goal in the 54th minute, securing a 1-0 victory for the reigning Super Lig champions.

“I can play as a single forward or a double forward. Victor is good at aerial balls because he is tall.

“He also makes deep runs, while I am good technically on my side,” Batshuayi declared.

The Belgian striker's goal was his first since joining Galatasaray, and he will be hoping to build on this performance alongside Osimhen.
