Ukeme Williams makes Saudi Arabia switch as Al-Entesar secure free-transfer deal

Nigeria midfielder Ukeme Williams has joined Al-Entesar from Al-Nojoom on a free transfer, completing his move to the Saudi Arabian club on 2 September 2026.

The 26-year-old central midfielder leaves Al-Nojoom after one season, having moved to the club from Nigerian side Shooting Stars in September 2025, also without a transfer fee. Williams had previously spent time with Maysan SC, Rivers United and Gombe United, building a career across clubs in Nigeria and abroad.

Williams began his senior career with Bendel Insurance before joining Kanemi Warriors in 2018. He moved to Wikki Tourists the following year and then signed for Akwa United, where he was part of the team that won the Nigerian championship in the 2020-21 season.

The midfielder subsequently moved to Uzbek club Mash'al before returning to Nigeria with Gombe United in January 2022. He later joined Rivers United, Maysan SC and Shooting Stars before his move to Al-Nojoom.

Across his career, Williams has made 96 appearances in the Nigerian Professional Football League, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists. He has also featured in the CAF Confederation Cup, the CAF Champions League, the NPFL Playoffs, Uzbekistan Cup, Superliga and Iraq FA Cup.

His record in the CAF Confederation Cup includes 13 appearances, one goal and one assist. Williams has generally operated in central midfield and is right-footed, giving Al-Entesar a player with extensive experience in Nigerian domestic football and appearances in continental competition.

The move to Al-Entesar is the latest step in a career that has included a series of free transfers, with Williams having also joined Akwa United, Wikki Tourists and Mash'al without a fee. His transfer from Gombe United to Rivers United in August 2022 was the only move in his recorded career to carry a listed market value, then €50,000.

Williams is now an Al-Entesar player after leaving Al-Nojoom as a free agent.
