Defending champions Rangers came from behind to beat Nasarawa United 2-1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri and record their first win of the season.

The rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture had been halted at 63 minutes on Thursday after heavy rain made playing conditions impossible. The match resumed on Friday morning, with Rangers completing their comeback to take all three points.

Nasarawa United moved ahead in the 39th minute when Sunday Dapman found the net. Rangers responded quickly, however, as Chidozie Iwundu equalised two minutes later to leave the score at 1-1.

The match appeared to be heading towards a draw before Daniel Itodo scored eight minutes from full time. His goal completed the turnaround for Rangers and secured victory for Fidelis Ilechukwu’s team.

The result lifted Rangers to eighth place with four points from two matches. Nasarawa United dropped to 14th, having collected three points from their three games.
