Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has emerged as the most valuable player in Turkey’s Trendyol 1. Lig, with a market valuation of €2.8 million despite a recent drop in his estimated worth, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Bursaspor striker leads the rankings ahead of teammates Lincoln Henrique and Juergen Elitim, underlining his growing importance to the Turkish club.
Iheanacho has featured in all eight of Bursaspor’s matches this season and has scored 13 goals for the Green Crocodiles. However, his market value has reportedly fallen by €200,000.
The Nigerian international returned to Turkey after featuring for the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s international friendly against Russia and was involved in Bursaspor’s training session on Thursday.
Iheanacho opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 10th minute of the encounter in Nizhny Novgorod, giving Eric Chelle’s side an early advantage.
Russia responded through Lechi Sadulaev before Matvey Kislyak and Aleksey Miranchuk scored after the break to put the hosts 3-1 ahead.
Nigeria fought back late in the match, with Peter Edokpolor reducing the deficit in the 78th minute before Akor Adams scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to secure a 3-3 draw.
Iheanacho will now turn his attention back to club football as Bursaspor continue their campaign, with the forward looking to maintain his impressive goalscoring form.
