Enyimba Target Fourth Unbeaten Game Against Katsina United

Enyimba will aim to continue their recovery from a difficult start to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season when they visit Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Friday, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The Aba giants have revived their campaign after losing their opening four matches, putting together an unbeaten run of two wins and a draw to move out of the relegation zone.

Their recent results include a 2-0 victory over Plateau United, an emphatic 4-2 win against Shooting Stars and a goalless draw with Kano Pillars in Kano.

Enyimba assistant coach Lawrence Ukaegbu believes the team’s recent performances have helped restore confidence, while expressing appreciation for the supporters who stood by the club during their difficult spell.

“I am really grateful to the Enyimba fans for the massive support during our difficult times. The players have responded well by getting two victories and a draw to move away from the relegation zone,” Ukaegbu told Completesports.com.

“We’re going to Katsina United to play well; by His grace, either we win, or we pick a draw; losing the game is out of it.”

Previous meetings between the two sides have been closely contested, with both clubs recording seven victories and one draw in their last 15 encounters.

Enyimba claimed a 3-0 home win in their most recent meeting on April 12, 2026, but Katsina United secured a 3-2 victory the last time they hosted the People’s Elephant in November 2025.

The hosts head into Friday’s encounter with two wins, two draws and one defeat from their last five matches. Their recent results include a 2-1 comeback victory over Doma United and draws against Rivers United and Inter Lagos.

Enyimba will be keen to maintain their improved form and extend their unbeaten run to four matches, while Katsina United will look to use home advantage to secure a positive result.
