Antonio Conte wants to become Manchester United’s next manager, according to journalist Daniele Longo, with current head coach Michael Carrick’s position under threat if the team’s results do not improve soon.

The Italian is ready to return to the Premier League, having previously managed Chelsea and Tottenham. Conte, 57, has been out of work since leaving Napoli in June this year.

Manchester United’s latest setback came on Tuesday, when they were beaten 2-0 by Atletico de Madrid in the Champions League.
