Hearts of Oak have sacked their long-serving physiotherapist James Commey Bortsie just days before the commencement of the new Ghana Premier League season.

According to a Sportscrusader report, Bortsie’s dismissal had to do with his off the pitch issues.

The veteran sounded surprised by the club’s decision to cut ties with him.

“I don’t know what amounted to management taking that decision, but I will respect it because all of us want the well being of Hearts of Oak and if my sacking will make the team win its matches or be successful in the coming season, so be it,”, Commey Bortsie is quoted by Sports Crusader.

Hearts could start their campaign against West Africa Football Academy on the Kpando Park on 17 January without a physiotherapist on the bench.

However, the Phobians sharpened their arsenals for the league start with a comfortable 5-0 win over Akosombo Crystal Palace on Sunday.
