Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Saanie Daara has heaped praise on Ghana coach Avram Grant, claiming he is like “Mohamed Ali”.

The Israeli coach was at the helm of the Black Stars at the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea as the team finished runners-up to Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout loss.Saanie Daara is confident the former Chelsea manager would help propel the Football Association’s ambitions to greater heights through his inspirational speeches.

“He (Avram Grant) will move us forward. I have observed that he isolates players, tell them what their strengths are and motivate them,” he said.

“I have not seen anything like that in the national team. He uses life examples and the players even call him Mohamed Ali.

“He used the analogy of Mohamed Ali’s career to inspire the team after Ghana lost to Senegal in the AFCON 2015 and it worked so well.”

The former Partizan Belgrade manager has two years remaining on his contract and has been tasked to help the West African nation win the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
