The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has concluded plans to rest the duo of goalkepper Daniel Akpeyi and Carl Ikeme in the friendly games of the Super Eagles.

Rohr who is searching for a credible goalkepper as back up to the experienced duo is reportedly set to hand debut to young goalkeppers Dele Alampasu and David Nwokolor.

Alampasu trained with the team before their 3-1 win over Algeria in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers, the 19 year old is presently out on loan to third division side Casarense from Portuguese side CD Feirense.

He put up a good show in training during preparations for the Algeria tie, and his reward will be a spot between the sticks when Nigeria take on Egypt, Senegal and possibly Ivory Coast in test games next year.

On his part Nwokolor has distinguished himself in the Bosnian league, where he is on loan to Vitez from Croatian side HNK Rijeka, the 22 year old fine performances has earned him the nickname “Buffon of Africa” by the press in Bosnia.
