The Municipal Chief Executive of Obuasi Kwasi Ofori Agyemang has exclusively disclosed to Ghanasoccernet.com that the Municipal Assembly together with the Adansi Traditional Council will be honouring Ghana league champions AshantiGold for winning the 2014/15 First Capital Premier League.
According to the MCE the assembly as well as the traditional council appreciate the honour done them by the Aboakese lads for winning the league for the first time in nineteen years.
Disclosing the news to Ghanasoccernet.com, Ofori Agyemang said, "We feel honoured by the success of the club and we must show appreciation by honouring the the management, playing body and the technical team for their splendid performance".
"We all know that since 1996 AshGold, then Goldfields, have not won the league trophy again. So for winning it this time, the team deserves to be honoured".
The MCE however did not clearly indicate how the team will be honoured but sources close to his office and the Adansi Traditional Council revealed to Ghanasoccernet.com that the thirty registered players as well as the each technical team member is likely to be given a brand new mobile phone a well as some cash prizes.
The Obuasi based side were declared champions of the Ghana league with a match to go after a lone goal victory over WAFA at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium last Sunday.
