Dramani admits Ghana deserved defeat against Nigeria

Ghana coach, Didi Dramani has conceded that his side deserved to lose against Nigeria in the second leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship qualifier, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Black Galaxies were comprehensively beaten 3-1 by their perennial rivals in Uyo on Sunday, with Nigeria scoring three goals within six minutes in the first half.

Sodiq Ismail, Nduka Junior, and Saviour Isaac were all on target for Nigeria, while substitute Frank Amankoa scored a consolation goal for Ghana 12 minutes from time.

Reflecting on the defeat, Dramani acknowledged that Nigeria's superior hunger and work rate were key factors in the outcome.

"Every coach will feel disappointed, but the result remains what it is," Dramani said during the post-match press conference.

"Nigeria showed much more hunger and did a lot of running. We gave away some key moments in the game, which turned out to be disastrous for us."
