Coach Ikhana Pleads With 3SC Fans Patience Amidst Unimpressive Away Form

Kadiri Ikhana has charged  Shooting Stars’ fans to exercise patience and keep supporting the side despite the present challenges after the team bowed to Nasarawa United on Tuesday.

Esosa Igbinoba’s 40th minute free kick separated the two sides at the Aper Aku Stadium and the defeat meant 3SC have lost all their six road trips including a home loss to Lobi Stars in the opening fixture of the season.

Ikhana told Goal that the Ibadan side would soon overcome their trying times while blaming the spate of recent unimpressive results on injuries to some key players.

“We are definitely not happy about the losses we have had in all our away trips this season and we are doing something positive to arrest the situation,” said Ikhana.

“We are very certain that we will come good very soon. It was a tough match for us against Nasarawa United and we tried everything possible to get at least a draw but the set piece goal was their saving grace. We had some few chances too which we couldn’t take.

“I still have injury worries but I am happy that some of them have recovered and are ready to contribute their quota to the team. I want to also appeal to the state government to help with the payment of the salaries owed the players.

“ If they are better motivated, they can do anything to defend the club but as the head of the team, I will continue to do my best to assure them that money is secondary if they are to make it in football,” he concluded.

3SC are 11th on the log with 15 points from 12 matches and they face Kano Pillars on Sunday.
