Asamoah Gyan's replacement at Al Ain Emenike of Nigeria fails to shine in debut
Asamoah Gyan was the hero at UAE side Al Ain

Nigeria international striker Emmanuel Emenike fired blanks on a losing debut for United Arab Emirates club Al Ain on Tuesday after being signed to replace Ghana attacker Asamoah Gyan.

Al Ain lost 1-0 to Uzbek Locomotiv in a pre-season game in Austria which made fans of the club miss their former striker Gyan who left for China this month.

Emenike played the first 45 minutes of the game alongside Ryan Babel, but could not get a goal for his team.

The former Spartak Moscow of Russia forward is on a year’s loan to the Dubai-based team from Turkish club Fenerbahce

He was a direct replacement for Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan who has laced on his scoring boots for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG as he has already scored two goals in three league appearances.

Why do you judge a striker based on just a match and even a friendly as such? GSN, you guys should be a little bit objective, ok. To me, I think Emenike should be judged based on his overall output. You are fond of always pampering Ghanaian players outside too much.

Why do you judge a striker based on just a match and even a friendly as such? Gyan and Emenike are two different strikers, if you guys don't know. Why should you make mockery of Emenike just because he failed to score in a debut friendly match for Al Ain? GSN, you guys should be a little bit objective, ok. To me, I think Emenike should be judged based on his overall output. You are fond of always pampering Ghanaian players outside too much.
