Zulkifilu Wins Plateau United Player Of The Month For May

Mohamed Zulkifilu has been voted Plateau United player of the month of May.

The utility player who has been with the team for almost three seasons now, is one of its mainstay since joining from Kwara United of Ilorin.

The Zaria-born player who can play in any position on the pitch was a member of the Flying Eagles team to the last World Youth Championship in Poland and the NPFL selected side that toured Mexico in 2021.

The hardworking player who was converted from the right-full back to the striking position by Coach Abdu Maikaba has been one of the team's highest goal scorers having banged in six so far this season despite sustaining series of injuries.

Zulkifilu who has not featured for the team for almost a month now has joined the league of other players such as Buhari Ibrahim, Ikefe Andrew, Sunday Anthony and Daniel Itodo among several others to have won the prestigeous award which goes with a plague and undisclosed amount of money.

The monthly Plateau United player of the Month award was initiated by Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu as an avenue to create healthy competition for shirts and a strong winning mentality among the players.
