Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah was sent off in Sampdoria’s 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona on Wednesday night.
Acquah was handed a starting role and lasted 57 minutes when he was marched off for second yellow card.
Massimiliano Irrati first booked the 22-year-old in the 36th minute before a deliberate handball attracted the second.
Acquah, a January signing, was making his sixth Serie A appearance.
