The season 2021/2022 is not yet nearly close of the beginning but we already have something very different to talk about for the next season. According to The Athletic is about to be official with all and immediate effect that in the next season, every UEFA competition will not have the away goal rule. It means that two ties in a knockout stage will still be a tie if it ends 1-1 in a match and 2-2 in the other, going to the Extra time. This expected revolution was already with ongoing discussion between board members of UEFA since last season.

Every football fan has its own memory about some fantastic comebacks just like Tottenham against Ajax in a epic 3-3 tie in Johan Cruyff Arena with Lucas Moura's Hattrick but the criticism about the rule was even bigger between the fans and professional men that work with the sport that the rule sometimes create a defensive game, which some complain to the sell of the product worldwide the point is, everything changed and we are ready and excited for more chapters of Knockout stages in UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

This change it seems a new revolution of the game considering how teams will face the advanced stages of the competitions but is not the first or the last time that we seen UEFA doing so. Last decade the rule of amount of yellow cards during the semifinals denied top players like Pavel Nedved for Juventus and Xabi Alonso for Real Madrid (for example) to be part of the Final match of the UCL in the past. The game changed, the rules too and yet, UEFA is still there controlling it, let's wait for the next one and next season.
