Huge tasks await the Nigerian U17 team, Flamingo in the next round of the 2024 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

Nigeria’s Flamingos secured a dramatic late victory over the Dominican Republic in their final Group A match at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, thanks to a stunning long-range strike by Shakirat Moshood. Her 89th-minute effort from 24 yards sealed a hard-fought 1-0 win, propelling Nigeria into the tournament's quarter-finals.

The win not only confirmed Nigeria’s place in the quarter-finals but also set up a challenging encounter with the United States, one of the tournament favorites, on Saturday.

Despite losing their first match of the tournament to Spain, the USA U17 team defeated  Colombia 2-0 and South Korea 5-0 to book a quaterfinal spot, where they will face the Flamingos on Saturday.

The Flamingos will need to carry the momentum from their group stage performances into the knockout round as they aim to advance further in the competition.
