A prominent feature of the countdown to the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote d'Ivoire 2023 is the 24 Participating Member Associations (PMAs) submitting their provisional squads.

The tournament regulations state that by December 14, 2023, each Member Association that qualified for the championship round must submit a preliminary roster of no more than 55 players. In related news, the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations CAF Organising Committee has declared that the final squads for the tournament will consist of 27 players instead of the initial 23 from past editions.

The four extra players on the final roster are not required to register; it is merely an option.

The final squads for the tournament must be submitted by January 3, 2023, which is precisely ten (10) days before the first match.

But during the tournament, only 23 players will be eligible to be selected for each match, Nigeriasoccernet.com can confirm.

Furthermore, a player included in the final squad may only be substituted in the event of a serious injury, and only after the CAF Medical Committee has approved the medical certificate and at least 24 hours have passed before the team's first game.

The final competition will be held in the Ivorian cities of Abidjan, Bouake, Korhogo, San Pedro, and Yamoussoukro from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
