Tade Azeez Vows to Punish Referee in ‘Shameful’ Fed Cup Semi-final ‘if found culpable’

Following the botched first semi final match of the 2016 Federation Cup on Wednesday, President of the Nigeria Football Referees Association Tade Azeez has stated that the referees association will not fail to maintain its high standard in ensuring that fairness is achieved in contentious situations.

The encounter at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna involving  Crown FC and FC IfeanyiUbah was abandoned in the final minutes when fans invaded the pitch protesting the Center Referee’s decision to chalk off a goal scored by the NNL side despite awarding a dubious penalty to Billionaire sponsored NPFL team.

Azeez said the referees association will still await the appropriate reports from the match through the NFF before it can then decide on a course of action to take.
