Sky Sports Pundit Jamie Redknapp Chooses the Best Player of 2016 in the Premier League

"?Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has chosen who he feels has been the best player in the Premier League in 2016, and it's one who has played for two clubs in the space of one year.

Yup, you guessed it - N'Golo Kante. The former Leicester City and already Premier League winner made the switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer following a stellar season with the Foxes, proving himself to be an influential figure in Blues boss Antonio Conte's side.

And according to "?Sky Sports, Redknapp as suggested that Leicester City's rise from relegation battlers to champions and the turnaround of Chelsea's fortunes after a poor campaign in 2015/16 has been largely down to one man, calling him a 'superstar'.

"It is quite an easy one this - N'Golo Kante - his performances at Leicester last season were just phenomenal," said the former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

"I have never seen a player cover so much ground and work so hard for his team, never waste a ball, and play with so much energy.

"You can see the impact he is now having at Chelsea - he has had some 2016. He did not cost that much money either, but what a player. A superstar."

Despite not receiving the credit he probably deserved under Claudio Ranieri's side due to the emergence of Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, Kante's performances for Chelsea have put him up there with one of the best defensive midfielders in the game right now.
