Przemyslaw Frankowski opened the scoring for Lens from the penalty spot on 21 minutes.
Simon equalized for Nantes with a penalty of his own nine minutes before halftime.
The Nigeria international then turned provider, setting up Nicolas Cozza to give Nantes the lead in the 71st minute.
He has now been directly involved in 7 goals in 10 league games this season.
However, another Nigerian, Hamzat Ojediran, leveled for Lens in the 86th minute.
Adrien Thomasson sealed the win for Lens with a 90th-minute strike.
