The Rossoneri are keen on bolstering their midfielder options as Norwegian winger Jens Petter Hauge is expected to leave for Eintracht Frankfurt. 33-year-old experienced Atalanta winger Josip Ilicic is on Milan’s transfer wishlist, according to Tuttosport, if and when Hauge departs. Ilicic’s contract with Atalanta expires in one year and the Bergamo club will look to cash in on his services rather than see him leave next year as a free agent.
Milan have experienced the loss of Hakan Calhanoglu to Inter for free and this has prompted the Rossoneri to look for additional reinforcements. They have already secured the transfers of Oliver Giroud, Brahim Diaz, Sandro Tonali, Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori and Fode Ballo-Toure ahead of the 2021/22 season.
