Raphinha fitness concern for Barcelona after Brazil withdrawal

Raphinha was substituted at half-time during Brazil’s friendly against Australia on Tuesday after experiencing muscular discomfort, raising concern for Barcelona.

Brazil were leading 3-2 during the second half when the situation emerged. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti took the winger off at the interval, with The Touchline reporting that the change was made because of the discomfort rather than for a tactical reason.

The development will be monitored closely by Barcelona, who had reportedly hoped Brazil would manage Raphinha’s playing time carefully during the current international camp.

The 28-year-old has made an outstanding start to the season for the Catalan club, scoring 14 goals in eight matches.

Brazil’s match against Australia is a friendly.
