North London giants Arsenal have had to endure an extremely disappointing start to their 2021/22 season and their transfer window has only seen moments of positivity, such as the incoming transfer of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid.

However, Mohamed Elneny, who enters his last year of contract with the Gunenrs was expected to leave the club amid Besiktas’ interest - according to reports from England and Turkey.

The Egyptian apparently demanded a salary of €2.5m net in wages on a four-year contract, which was not entertained by the Turkish club and its president Ahmet Nur Cebi.

He will become a free agent at the end of the current season.
