Andreas Christiansen confirms that the talks with Chelsea about his contract, which will expire next summer, are going well: “I can't say too much, but I think it looks good. We won the Champions League and the Supercup. I'm very happy to be in this club and think that Chelsea is the right place for me, ”the 25-year-old told the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

His coach also plays a not insignificant role in the decision-making process: “I know that Thomas Tuchel believes in me. I've played a big role since he came, ”said Christensen. In the still-young Premier League season, the Danish central defender has been on the pitch every minute.

In February 2012, Christiansen joined Chelsea at the age of 15 and made his professional debut in October 2014. He was loaned to Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach from 2015 to 2017, making 82 appearances and scoring seven goals.

After captain Gary Cahill was sent off in Chelsea's 3–2 opening day home defeat against Burnley on August 12, 2017, Christensen made his first appearance for Chelsea after a two-year loan stint in Germany, coming off the bench after skipper Gary Cahill was sent off.
