CAF Technical Study Group has unveiled its Team of the Tournament, with three (3) Super Eagles Stars earning inclusion, following the conclusion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations,
The Best XI features centre-back Calvin Bassey, midfielder Ademola Lookman and striker Victor Osimhen.
The trio played pivotal roles in Nigeria's campaign, as the Super Eagles secured third place by defeating Egypt 4–2 on penalties, having earlier exited the competition at the semifinal stage after a heartbreaking 4–2 shootout defeat to hosts Morocco.
With the exception of the third-place playoff against Egypt, which he missed through suspension, Fulham defender Calvin Bassey featured in every match contested by the Super Eagles and helped goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali register three clean sheets.
Lookman was Nigeria's standout performer, recording seven goal involvements (three goals and four assists) during the tournament in Morocco, more than any other player who featured at Afcon 2025.
The Atalanta star was named Man of the Match after inspiring victories against Tunisia and Mozambique.
Osimhen scored four goals to finish as the tournament's second-highest goalscorer, behind Morocco's Brahim Díaz.
Morocco and Senegal dominate the Team of the Tournament, with both nations contributing four players each.
