Piooners FC crowned winners of Oriye Rindre Unity Cup Football Tournament maiden Edition

Piooners FC have been crowned Champions of the first edition of Oriye Rindre Unity Cup Football Tournament, 2023 after defeating Kwarra United FC side by 1-0.

Haruna Abdulmumuni scored the only goal of the physical but entertaining duel, ten minutes into the restart, at the crowded Flying Stars' Football Field, Wamba Town, on New Year's Day.

Pioneers were presented a gigantic trophy donated by the Team Manager of Nasarawa United FC, Solomon Babanjah,  and the cash sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira(N100,000.00). Runners-up, Kwarra United FC went home with the cash sum of Seventy Thousand Naira(N70,000.00) while Third Placed Team, Unity Boys FC of Mararaban Gongon were rewarded with the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira(N50,000.00) by the sponsor and Youth leader of Wamba Local Government Area, Comr. Usman Tanze Danjuma.

Individual awards were presented to  the tournament's Most Valuable Player, Haruna Abdulmumuni of Piooners FC, Highest Goalscorer to Musa Usman of Piooners FC and Best Goalkeeper to Nafiu Ibrahim of Kwarra United FC.

Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Professor Onje Gye-Wado was presented with an Award of Excellence by the Organizers for his numerous contributions to sports development in Wamba Local Government Area and Nigeria as a whole.

Paramount Ruler of Wamba and Oriye Rindre, HRH. Justice(Rtd) Lawal Musa Nagogo, during his remarks, congratulated the newest Champions, the Runners-up as well as other participating teams for ensuring a hitch-free tournament.

He also applauded the foresight of the sponsor of the Competition and Youth Leader of Wamba, Usman Tanze Danjuma, for pooling resources together to stage a befitting tournament, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered through Eche Amos.

The Oriye Rindre promised to use the instrument of his stool to entrench peaceful co-existence among the diverse nationalities in Wamba Local Government Area and create mutually beneficial environment for the growth and development of the Local Government Area and its people.

Earlier, former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, had led a delegation comprising Solomon Babanjah, Coach Usman Adams, Mbwas Mangut, Lord Eddy Donbraye, Amos Musa, Abdulmumuni Nuhu(FA Chairman, Wamba LGA) and Usman Tanze Danjuma to the Palace of the Oriye Rindre for royal blessings.

Twenty Clubs from across Wamba Local Government Area partook in the Tournament.
