Parma v Juventus: Official Line-Ups

Published on: 24 August 2019

Champions Juventus kick off the 2019/20 Serie A season as they visit Parma’s Stadio Ennio Tardini this Saturday evening.

The Crociati will be hoping to make life difficult for their guests though, much as they did last year, though they did still fall to a 2-1 defeat in round three of 2018/19.

With Juventus strengthening even further in the summer, Parma will fear a demolition. In fact, their biggest ever Serie A defeat came against La Vecchia Signoa (7-0 in 2014).

History bodes well for Juve though as they’ve come out on top on each of the three occasions they’ve opened a campaign against the Gialloblu (1990/91, 2011/12 and 2012/13). But Parma have something to cling onto, as they’ve drawn 60 percent of their Serie A openers – won five, lost five and drawn 15 of 25 – more than anyone else.

Parma: Sepe; Iacoponi, Bruno Alves, Gagliolo, Barilla, Hernani, Brugman, Laurini, Kulusevski, Inglese, Gervinho.

Juventus: Szczesny; Alex Sandro, Chiellini, Bonucci, De Sciglio; Matuidi, Costa, Pjanic, Khedira, Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain.
