When the defending African champions meet Nigeria in the third and final round of the Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifier on Friday, April 5 and 9, it will be a two-leg match, with Banyana Banyana goalkeeper Kaylin Swart likely to be a vital player.

Longtime rivals of South Africa, the Super Falcons, will play in a two-leg qualifying match that is sure to be exciting and very tactical because a spot in the Olympics is on the line, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Before the first leg, Swart, who was coach Desiree Ellis' first pick at the FIFA Women's World Cup where the squad has historically advanced to the round of 16, spoke with CAF Online and expressed the team's excitement about playing Nigeria while also discussing the team's development.

"Playing against Nigeria is always a great battle, we are familiar with each other only because we have had battles for many years up until now and this one is no different. I have full confidence in my teammates, and I think if we just stick to our strengths as a team and play for each other, we will get the results we need".

There are massive opportunities for us to show and level up with the best, and I think to be the best we have to compete with the best. African football has evolved so much and knowing that Spain, who are world champions alongside Japan and Brazil could possibly be our opponents is a huge boost. All we need to do is focus on ourselves and prepare well to give us the best possible chance to get results", she added.

Preparations intensify for both sides as they they look to battle it out for the Olympics women football tournament ticket.
