Pap Matar Sarr has joined Juventus’ first-team training for the first time since completing his move from Tottenham, with the midfielder expected to be included in the squad for Sunday’s away match against Sassuolo, according to Football Italia.
The Senegal international had been working separately since arriving in Turin as he built up his fitness. His return comes at an important time for head coach Luciano Spalletti, who is facing a shortage of midfield options.
Weston McKennie, Khephren Thuram and Manuel Locatelli are currently unavailable. Thuram and Locatelli have both recently undergone surgery and are expected to miss several months.
Thuram is not expected to return until January 2027, while Locatelli faces five to six months of recovery after undergoing an operation on his meniscus.
McKennie trained separately again on Friday and is likely to miss the match against Sassuolo. Andrea Cambiaso is also expected to be absent.
