Renowned psychologist and former Nigeria volleyball star, Dr. Robinson Okosun has commended the Ibrahim Gusau-led NFF administration for remembering and rewarding members of Management and Staff of the organization that retired between 2019 and the present, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

At a colourful ceremony inside the auditorium of NFF/FIFA Technical Centre, MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, a total of 20 persons who fell into this category were recognized, appreciated, honoured and rewarded with financial benefits.

“We cannot thank the Gusau administration enough for this gesture. Over the years and decades, NFF staff members who retired from service simply left for their houses quietly, unrewarded and unappreciated after so many years spent serving the nation".

“The Gusau administration has done something that should be applauded by all, and I dare say this is a worthy legacy for the administration. My hope is that this practice is sustained by future NFF administrations”, said Okosun.

Okosun retired as a substantive Director (not deputy director as earlier reported) in the NFF Technical Department, having served in various capacities in the Federation, including as special assistant to the NFF President, Head of Media, Team Psychologist to the Super Eagles and Head of Psychology Unit.

He was honoured alongside Bola Oyeyode (Director, Competitions), Lawrence Katken (Director, Competitions), Babatunde Akinsanya (Director of Finance & Admin), Siji Lagunju (DD, Technical), Abdulrafiu Yusuf (DD, Technical), John Adelowo and Karim Bako (DD, Accounts), Yohanna Mathias (DD, Audit), Sunday Okayi (AD, Competitions), Lami Bitrus (Chief Accountant), Edith Uzoechi (Chief Confidential Secretary), Emmanuel Adesanya (Asst. Chief Executive Officer), Sherifat Olabode (Asst. Chief Confidential Secretary), Abosede Awojana (Higher Executive Officer), Ebenezer Alatake (Chief Clerical Officer), Eunice Lawson (Chief Clerical Officer), Lawal Adamu (Chief Driver), Marcel Edikpa (Chief Driver) and Ibrahim Makeri (Chief Driver).
