The Nationwide League One (NLO) Secretariat has instructed clubs participating in the NLO Cup to improve security at their home venues, ensure proper ground preparation and prominently display pitch-side panels bearing their names, partners and sponsors. Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

In a directive issued to participating clubs, the Secretariat emphasised the need for adequate security arrangements, well-maintained facilities and thorough match-day preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the competition.

Clubs have also been told to keep their playing surfaces, dressing rooms and other supporting facilities in good condition and ready for use throughout the tournament.

The NLO further highlighted the commercial value of pitch-side branding, urging clubs to use the opportunity to give their sponsors greater visibility, strengthen existing partnerships and attract potential investors.

The Secretariat warned that compliance with the directive is compulsory, adding that clubs that fail to meet the requirements for ground preparation, security or the display of the designated pitch panels could face sanctions from the Competition Organising Committee.

All participating teams have therefore been urged to make the necessary arrangements ahead of their matches, with the NLO stressing the importance of safety, professionalism and improved standards in Nigerian grassroots football.
